Getting Down to Business

I'm slowly but surely beginning to create a name for myself in the art world. I'm working with my freind Rich on creating a webpage for my art.

The difficulty I am having though is finding my niche. I do everything. I can draw, paint, take pictures, use pen and ink, and charcoal. I can do printmaking, and I create 3d pieces, make jewelery, and design books. I can do calligraphy and stained glass. I can decorate a room. I can manipulate a picture in photoshop. I have t shirt designs. And I have marketing and writing skills as well. And there are other areas I want to venture to, like installation art.

How do I fit all that on a business card?? How do I set up a website for this?

I created this design for a business card. I was thinking that on the back I could list all that I do. I'm going to scan it and play with it on the computer before I send it to the printers.

I plan on signing up for stArt on the Street, and by then I want to have my site mostly completed and my business cards done.

More to come! There is so much work I need to do!

Courage

I was commissioned to complete this painting last week. Rachel had seen my art at The Q and was a huge fan. Orignally she wanted a print of a larger painting I had done, but I had that piece professionally framed so it would have been too much of hassel to dismantle it. So instead she agreed to a painting. She wanted it as a gift to her sister who had heart surgery a couple months ago. So for the chinese symbol, I chose "Courage".

Rachel was pleased when I delivered the painting. She said that it exceeded her expectations.

I'm thinking now that I should have made a print of it to sell, since now it is gone and out of reach, but its ok. I will create another one. These are the lessons I have to learn along the way.

I may do a series of paintings with chinese symbols illustrated with flowers.
